At halftime of Friday's Caldwell County football game, Caldwell fans got a chance to see one of the most decorated Tiger athletes ever as Emma Talley returned to Princeton.
On her break from the Symetra Tour, Talley was home to make a donation to her school. She recently played in a charity golf tournament where the Lord Wedgewood Charity -- a charity that works to fight sudden cardiac arrests -- gave her a defibrillator to donate. Talley chose to give it to her alma mater and was thrilled to do it.
"It's a travelling defibrillator, so they can not only use it at the school during hours, but they can also take it to football games, soccer games, basketball," Talley said. "This is one of the biggest gifts I've ever received and to be able to give something that could save somebody's life -- I've done a lot in my golf career, but I've never saved a life before. It's pretty cool."
Talley will continue her golf career in two weeks at the next Symetra Tour event in South Dakota.
